| I believe that God is doing a new thing in our
time. It will begin with a time of trouble, as evil spreads throughout the earth. Worldly
political powers and religious powers will be given great power in an effort to turn back
the tide. There will be a time of persecution, which will purify the true
church. Out of this tribulation the Jews will be converted, as the gospel is proclaimed
and the Holy Spirit is poured out upon them. The conversion of the Jews will bring a time
of blessing to the entire world.
The world political powers will be
destroyed at the same time, as God’s power is released through the proclamation of
the prophetic word. A time of revival will follow, when the gospel is proclaimed with
power throughout the earth. The whole world will be won for Jesus. The kingdom of God will
be established as all things are brought into submission to him. Blessing and peace will
be restored to the whole world. This time of Kingdom blessing may go on for a long time
(maybe hundreds or thousands of years). At the end of this time there will be a final
rebellion, and then Jesus will return. Believers will be caught up into the air to be with
the Lord (the rapture), and the earth will be destroyed. His return will bring in the
final judgment, when those who belong to him will go to eternal life, and those who have
rejected him will go to eternal punishment.
