Revival is only a limited goal. (It is a means not the end).
You can only revive something that is dead or dying. (Therefore
the desire for revival is an admission that the church is dying).
Revival is only a short-term goal. Once something has been
revived, it cannot keep on being revived. So we need a goal beyond
revival.
The Spirit told me to "stop talking about revival and
start talking about the Kingdom of God". The Kingdom of God
is a more worthy goal than revival. It is what Jesus talked about.
He commissioned the church to establish the Kingdom of God. He is
reviving the church so it can complete its task of building the
Kingdom of God.
The Kingdom of God becomes a reality when God’s authority is
done on earth as it is in heaven. Sin has touched all aspects of
life: families, relationships, business, government,
entertainment, education. Sin is the opposite of God’s will, so
his will is no longer being done in these times. However, wherever
sin has gone, the grace of God will follow to clear up the mess
and restore God’s order. The Holy Spirit has come into the world
to bring God’s grace to bear on every aspect of life.
If we want to be in touch with what the Holy Spirit is doing,
we need to be working to establish the Kingdom. To better understand the these things, look at
the Kingdom of God.
